A Little Encouragement Goes a Long Way

Louise Can Do It!

Louise & Wally

Cancer Survivor:

Louise Citron,

Independent Audiologist, Community Volunteer

I was never a person who liked to exercise and always felt because of my body type, that there were exercises I couldn’t do.  Then I had cancer and I had to exercise because of the joint pain and stiffness caused by the treatments.

What I learned from Marlene from the very first session, is that there is no such word as “can’t”.   It’s those “can’t do” voices in our head that keep us from doing whatever we “can do”, and for Marlene, whatever you can do in that moment is enough.

Positivity is what keeps people motivated!

I learned to turn those voices from the negative to the positive.

As we trained together, with each small increase in what I could do, those “can’t do” voices slowly became “can dos”.

“I started lifting very small amounts of weight, and now I can carry my grandchildren up several flights of stairs!”

“I not only survived cancer, but have thrived.  I no longer have joint pain, my endurance and strength are better than ever, I know how to lift and stretch without fear of muscle damage and have begun to ski again!”

Take small steps. You can do this.

Train Like Louise!

Small steps go a long way!
