Why the name ‘Serape’?

The name comes from a Spanish word (sah -rah -peh), has two meanings that tie nicely together: The Latin American shawl or blanket-like article of clothing, worn as a cloak in a crisscross fashion, and how muscles of the body’s core musculature form a crisscross design.
